We source our raw material from communities in about 60km from the plant. Our suppliers are predominately women who collect the fruit in season (January to March) and sells to MNP. MNP then processes the fruit into pulp and sells to the food and beverage industry. Off season (April to December) the women sells kernels to us. The kernels are processed into oil which is in turn is sold either crude or refined to the edible/food and cosmetic oil industry. Our database indicates that our suppliers have grown from 2400 in 2001 to 5000 in 2003.
